2022 MIT Award winners
At the end of the academic year, MIT holds multiple awards ceremonies to honor students, faculty, staff, and community members who have made outstanding contributions to the shared life of the Institute. These include: the MIT Awards Convocation, whose awards recognize excellence in academics and teaching, public service, community building, diversity and inclusion, achievements in the arts and athletics, leadership, and entrepreneurship; the MIT Excellence Awards, which recognize the extraordinary efforts made by members of the MIT staff toward fulfilling the goals, values, and mission of the Institute; and the MIT Infinite Mile Awards, which recognizes individuals or teams who have made extraordinary contributions within their own organizations to help the Institute carry out its mission.

Amy Glasmeier – MIT Awards Convocation, Arthur C. Smith Award
The Arthur C. Smith Award is presented to a member of the MIT faculty for meaningful contributions and devotion to undergraduate student life and learning at MIT.
Lawrence Susskind – MIT Awards Convocation, Paul Gray Award for Public Service
The Paul Gray Award for Public Service recognizes a member of the MIT faculty who exemplifies building “a better world” through his or her teaching, research, advising, and service. Previous DUSP award recipients include, Ceasar McDowell (2019) and Justin Steil (2018).
Siqi Zheng – MIT Awards Convocation, Frank E. Perkins Award for Excellence in Graduate Advising
The Frank E. Perkins Award for Excellence in Graduate Advising is given each year to a professor from each school who has served as an excellent advisor and mentor for graduate students. Previous DUSP award recipients include, Justin Steil (2021) and Lawrence Vale (2017).
Ellen Rushman – MIT Excellence Award, Serving Our Community
Fabio Duarte – School of Architecture and Planning’s Infinite Mile.
Mary Jane Daly – Office of the Vice Chancellor’s Infinite Mile, as a member of the Pay Equity Working Group – Diversity & Inclusion.
