Zhicong Zhao

Associate professor, Department of Landscape Architecture, School of Architecture, Tsinghua University; and Assistant Director of Institute for National Parks, Tsinghua University, China. Dedicated to research and teaching in the fields of national parks, protected areas, regional planning, and human settlements; and engaged in the planning and research of protected areas for over a decade. Work involves creating plans for protected areas and their surrounding regions, as well as providing policy advice and conducting surveys and research. Additionally teaches university courses on the protection and planning of landscape heritage.

Holds a BA in Landscape Architecture, Beijing Forestry University, China; and Master and PhD in Landscape Architecture, Tsinghua University, China.

At MIT, looks forward to exploring a broader and more advanced range of regional planning technologies, and gaining new perspectives and methods that consider how humans and nature can coexist harmoniously.
