Truc Nguyen

Research Manager, Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies - University of Social Sciences and Humanities Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Responsible for developing and submitting competitive proposals to funding agencies, including national grants and cross-border research programs, and co-leads studies on urban displacement and livelihood transitions, with the aim of identifying mechanisms which enable low-income groups to better access the City's resources and opportunities. As a planning officer in Ho Chi Minh City, was in charge of coordinating the District's infrastructure development involving consultation with homeowners and devising and implementing a number of projects dedicated to green spaces and neighborhood revitalization.

 

Holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Bachelor's in Business Management, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; and Master of Science in Sustainable Urban Management, Heriot-Watt University, United Kingdom.

 

At MIT, aims to deepen understanding of U.S. tenant-based housing programs - both underlying theories and know-how techniques - in order to construct policy interventions that will effectively tackle the affordable crisis prevailing in Vietnamese megacities.
