Cong Cong
Cong Cong is a Lecturer of Urban Science and Planning at the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at MIT. Her research focuses on using data, computing and informatic tools to inform more effective decision-making. She explores the intersection of computer science and urban planning and uses large-scale urban modeling, and spatial big data analysis as exploratory techniques. Her recent work highlights ways for open data and open-source tools to better support planning.
Cong received her PhD from the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she also earned her master’s degree in Urban Planning and a M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering. She practiced at T.Y.Lin China office as a transportation engineer, following the completion of her education in Transportation at Tongji University.
