Alessandra Smith
Alessandra Smith is a dedicated advocate for equitable urban planning, environmental justice, and infrastructure equity. With a Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering from Georgia Tech and currently pursuing a Master of City Planning at MIT, she is focused on creating sustainable and inclusive cities. Her expertise spans racial and social equity, environmental sustainability, and data-driven approaches to urban development. She has contributed to projects ranging from workforce development programs to real estate market assessments and socio-economic impact studies.
In her professional journey, she has collaborated with government entities and non-profit organizations to design equitable urban development initiatives. Her work has earned recognition, including the Technology Rising Star Award at the Women of Color 2023 STEM Conference and a Racially Just Research Grant for advancing institutional change in academic settings. Through projects with transportation agencies, non-profits, and cultural preservation firms she demonstrates a deep commitment to promoting justice, inclusion, and sustainable growth in urban communities.
